Viparita Karani (Legs up the Wall pose)

- Viparita Karani is an easy to do restorative pose.
- Lay on your side with your bottom against a wall.
- Place a pillow against your bottom.
- Roll up on to the pillow until your legs are vertical and straight.
- Place your arms at your sides with your palms up and fingers open and slightly curled.
- Relax the muscles you are not using. Relax your jaw. Close your eyes to increase your awareness of your body.
- Focus your attention on your body. Feel which muscles are tight and where there is pain. This will increase your awareness of your body.
- Hold the stretch for two minutes. Breath nomally.
- When your time is up, take a breath, open your eyes, roll to your side and get up slowly.
