Yoga for Seniors

Yoga is a wonderful form of exercise for seniors. It does not matter how old you are. If you can walk, you can practice yoga. Even if you are confined to bed, you can do Savasana which will make a big difference. A daily yoga practice can improve your balance and dramatically improve your quality of life. Everyone can benefit from the advice "Warm up, start small, go slow, never stretch to the point of pain and only go to just beyond a pleasant fatigue. " As a senior, you should warm up very gently, start very small, go very slow and never, ever stretch to the point of pain. And, you should check with your doctor first and, ideally, find a teacher with experience teaching seniors.
